- Chao Phraya Surasak (เทศบาลนครเจ้าพระยาสุรศักดิ์), Si Racha district, Chonburi province, upgraded from subdistrict municipality to city municipality effective May 2. The municipality was created in 1999 when the sanitary district Ao Udom was upgraded to a municipality. It covers 276.98 km², 39 villages and 109,983 citizen.
- TAO Wiang Kaeo (องค์การบริหารส่วนตำบลเวียงแก้ว), Li district, Lamphun province, transferring the area of village 3, 11, 12 and 16 to the subdistrict municipality Mae Tuen (เทศบาลตำบลแม่ตืน).
